Salix alba L. - Leaves Dried
Leaves: Alternate, simple, lanceolate to narrow ovate, 2-4 inches long, finely serrated, shiny green above, nearly white and silky below. Stems: Very slender; smooth or slightly downy; yellowish brown (golden); flexible; buds are small, oppressed and covered by a single, cap-like scale; terminal buds lacking.
Salix Alba, the white willow, is a species of willow native to Kashmir in India, Europe and western and central Asia. The name derives from the white tone to the undersides of the leaves.
Active constituents in willow (Salix spp.) include salicylates (primarily in the form of glycosides salicortin and salicin) and tannins. Current indications for plant use include fever, rheumatism, and as an anti-inflammatory.
The anti-tumor effects of willow leaf extracts were novel. However, willow leaves have long been used in folk medicine as an ant rheumatic, analgesic, and antipyretic herbal medicine
The metabolites within the willow extract may act as tumor inhibitors that promote apoptosis, cause DNA damage, and affect cell membranes and/or denature proteins. The research was published in the journal Scientific Reports.

How to use as Cosmatic hair dye —
Walnut green husk can be used as a cost-effective, valuable, environmentally friendly, and safe source of cosmetic dyeing and antimicrobial agents. To this end, the effective use of walnut green husk extract as a natural hair color has been evaluated. The coloring properties, fastness, and antimicrobial behavior of the colored hair and also a skin irritation test for natural hair color on the skin of the rat were tested. When the obtained extract was added to ferrous sulfate as a mordant agent, ascorbic acid as a developer, a cosmetic ingredient, and also Aloe vera extract as a secondary mordant, a dark brown color was observed on the examined hair samples. The colored hair showed adequate color strength with excellent morphology for a hair surface covered with color molecules. The colored hair also had excellent resistance to washing and daylight fastness, without any irritating properties , although high concentrations of iron-based mordant may be problematic for long-term use. Researchers have also been suggested the use of natural mordants such as lactic and oxalic acids to avoid potential risks
